  1. Kebon Roek

Not much different from Mandalika, Kebon Roek located on the suburbs of Mataram at Adi Sucipto Street, also has its own charm. This market is located in a strategic location, because it is at the crossroads of the tourism route.

Keep in mind, Kebon Roek is the most chosen route for tourists coming and going to Senggigi and Mataram. In addition, this market also an option for culinary tourism for 7 days a week.

From morning until evening, traditional snacks are always available here. Starting from the legendary meatballs that have even existed since I was very kids, to various types of wet snacks typical of Lombok are here.

Oh and also, Kebon Roek also a business center. Just by walking across the market gate you'll find several national bank and ATM centre.

Then if you want to find household needs and buy or sell jewelry, you can walk a little to the west, then a number of Gold shops and household goods stores such as Mr. DIY are available.

The operating hours are almost same as Mandalika, around 4am. There are already some traders loading and unloading merchandise on that ealy morning. The market will close at around 6pm, but sometimes in the afternoon, some vendors are still open until 7pm.

For me personally, Kebon Roek is like an ‘all-in one location’,  Everything you need justavailable there. In addition, the vegetables sold here are fresh. Not to mention fruits, which can be bought at a cheaper price in no less fresh condition.

  1. Pagesangan

If Mandalika and Kebon Roek are located on the suburbs of the city, then Pagesangan traditional market is located right in the heart of Mataram. This market is a traditional one located on Jalan Gajah Mada, Pagesangan Village, Mataram District, Mataram City.

However, the market situation is not much different, including the various goods traded. However, the prices of a number of commodities, in my opinion, are still slightly more expensive than the two previous traditional markets.

But the fact is, this condition does not affect thecitizen or market visitors who want to shop. Especially those who live in Mataram, the workers who are closer to this market.

Because it is located right in the heart of the city, and is a crossing point for workers and students, no wonder that this market remains busy every day. For operating hours, this market is open from 5am to 2pm only.
