How to reach Lombok by air
The island has since November 2011 a brand new international airport with new roads to the south and to the north up to Mataram (the main town).
The new airport is located a short distance of Kuta Lombok and the beautiful beaches of the south coast (about 20 minutes). Plan in advance the conditions of your transfer from the airport to avoid having to negotiate the price of the taxi that will take you anywhere you want. If you have booked an hotel, you are better off asking them to plan this for you.
