When it comes to Satay in Lombok, most people immediately think of Sate Rembiga or Sate Bulayak. But there’s a lesser-known spot that serves some of the most flavorful satay in town—Warung Sate Napisah. If you’re looking for an authentic and delicious local dining experience, this is the place to be.

Where to Find Warung Sate Napisah

Sate Napisah is located in Rembiga, about 250 meters east of the Rembiga traffic light. From Mataram city center, you can get there by following Jalan Udayana and turning east.

The shop itself is small and easy to miss, with a simple sign that blends into the surroundings. But despite its modest appearance, the steady flow of customers is proof that this warung is one of the best places to enjoy meat satay in Lombok.

What’s on the Menu?

Sate Napisah serves:

  • Sate Pusut – Lombok-style minced meat satay mixing with shredded coconut and traditional spicy

  • Meat Satay – Tender, flavorful skewers of grilled meat with sweet and spicy taste

  • Bebalung – A rich, spicy beef rib soup from traditional herbs of Lombok

  • Plecing Kangkung – Lombok’s signature spicy water spinach dish with traditional sauce

  • Traditional Lombok snacks

For drinks, you can choose from fresh young coconut, squeezed orange juice, or bottled water.

Great Food at Affordable Prices

A full meal, including Bebalung soup, white rice, and a portion of meat satay, costs around IDR 55,000. Individual servings of satay, Bebalung, or Sate Pusut are IDR 25,000 each.

Sate Napisah is also a great choice if you want to take satay home. Due to concentrated spices, their satay stays fresh for up to 24 hours without refrigeration, and you can request special packaging in a bamboo basket or plastic wrap for easy transport.

What to Expect

  • No air conditioning – The space is small, so if you prefer a cooler dining experience, takeaway is a good option.

  • Locally loved – It may not be well-known to tourists, but locals swear by it.

If you’re in Mataram or on route to the Gili Islands, and craving an authentic satay experience, Sate Napisah is well worth the visit.
